Cardiac catheterization

This is a test to check your heart. A thin, flexible tube called a catheter is inserted into the heart through blood vessels. This test can include a coronary angiogram, which checks blood flow in the coronary arteries.

Coronary angioplasty/Stent placement

Angioplasty is a procedure that is performed to open narrowed or blocked blood vessels, called coronary arteries, which are responsible for supplying blood to the heart. A coronary artery stent, or metal mesh tube that expands inside a coronary artery, can be inserted. The stent is often placed during or immediately after angioplasty, which helps prevent the artery from closing up again.
